  13. Subject:    New Advanced Chip Set Setup Options for Baby Voyager 
  14. BIOS Setup

  17. The following five additional Setup options now appear on the 
  18. Advanced Chip Set Setup screen. They are the first five options 
  19. on the screen.

  22. On Board Serial Port 1
  23.  
  24. This option enables or disables serial port 1 on the Baby Voyager 
  25. motherboard. The options are I/O ports 3F8h - 3FFh, I/O ports 
  26. 3E8h - 3EFh, or Disabled.

  28. If the configuration data stored in CMOS RAM is corrupted when 
  29. the system is powered on, the system BIOS automatically 
  30. configures onboard serial port 1 according to the presence or 
  31. absence of serial ports on any adapter cards in the system 
  32. expansion slots (off board serial ports).

  34. Autoconfiguration will only occur when CMOS RAM data is 
  35. corrupted. The result for serial port 1 is:
  36.  
  37. If the Offboard   the Onboard Serial Port 1 is Autoconfigured as

  40.                                via BIOS Advanced Chip Set Setup.

  50.                                port address conflict occurs.

  52. P5 is serial port 1 on the Baby Voyager motherboard. If disabled 
  53. through Setup, do not attach any device to P5 or to any cable 
  54. attached to P5. J9 is used to configure the interrupt request 
  55. line (IRQ) for onboard serial port 1.

  63.   Jumper   Pins Shorted        Description
  64.  J9        Pins 1-2     IRQ3 selected for onboard 
  65.                         serial port 1.
  66.  J9        Pins 2-3     IRQ4 selected for onboard 
  67.                         serial port 1 (Default).

  69. If onboard serial port 1 is disabled, you may want to remove the 
  70. jumper block from J9 to disable the onboard serial port 1 
  71. interrupt.

  78. motherboard. The options are I/O Ports 2F8h - 2FFh, I/O Ports

  192. sure that the floppy cable is connected to P6 on the Baby Voyager 
  193. motherboard.

  199. Enable this option to use the onboard IDE hard disk drive 
  200. controller. Make sure that the IDE cable is connected to P7 on 
  201. the Baby Voyager motherboard.
